If you close the CoC #2 it will mean your grip is well above average!

I now use the #1 as a warm-up, then switch to the #2.
The rate of progress suggests that I might get it closed about next Christmas... or New Year... or Spring...

(When I do get the darned thing closed I'm going to have it welded...)

Oh, and I happened to have the #1 and #2 in my hip pocket when I visited the gym I mentioned elsewhere, so I passed them around. Most of the guys, and a woman lifter too, could close or at least almost close the #1.
But no one could close the #2.

That would about right - unless you hit a gym that has people doing strongman or maybe powerlifting, you'll be hard pressed to find many people closing a #2. Actually some trades people can often do better than lifters. Find a person who uses there hands a lot doing manual stuff & you might find a #2 closer, but it's pretty rare.
I should work on getting the #2, I just don't put in time gripping like I should. Maybe I'll set myself a goal of getting it done after I finish this course I'm on right now? I'll see when I get finished as I'll be looking at some goal planning when I'm done.

I re-read the directions that come with the CoC's, they suggest that the training shouldn't be done casually--like I do while driving the car. Instead they say that grip training should be done like other in-the-gym exercises-- with attention and concentration, and as part of our regular workout.
Guess I'll start doing that.
