This guy seems switched on.
It was really interesting learning about reproduction in my studies, and comparing it to what I know about soy.
Soy has a very mild oestrogenic effect - it attaches to oestrogen receptors, so it helps to block out bad oestrogenic compounds like parabens and biphenyl A that have an excessively strong oestrogenic effect.
I think this is why soy helps prevent some types of cancers (those that are dependant on oestrogen to grow) and women's reproductive disorders where too much oestrogen can cause or aggravate the problem.
This would suggest that eating soy protects men (and women) from having too much oestrogen in their bodies, because if all the oestrogen receptors are full then the bad oestrogenic compounds are eventually excreted from the body.
So people that eat soy could have lower levels of oestrogen than those who don't.
If I wasn't meant to be studying for an exam at the moment, I'd like to try to find some articles about it.
