Here's an interesting bill. I'm not sure exactly what the implications of such a bill would mean. Probably be useful for vegans (especially in hospital, in jail etc), but it seems pretty wide ranging & I'm not sure quite what 'protection' would mean - could people no longer criticise others being vegan (that's not a good idea - debate is always useful in my view). It's a tricky one, obviously getting legal protection for those vulnerable members of society who choose a vegan diet like ...

This study showed that 3 things appeared to be carcinogenic in red meat & processed meats:

nitrate/nitrite

heterocyclic amines

heme iron

The first 2 are not new to me, but I hadn't heard that heme iron was a likely contender for being a cancer forming product. Animals produce heme iron, plants produce ...

It has been known for a while that food generally lowers testosterone for a brief period, but if sugar does this especially then it would be significant. The problem with this piece is it doesn't have a control, doesn't show effects of other food stuffs in comparison & generally fails to quantify any of the things we'd need to know to make a reasonable choice.
Interesting article here about a baseball team who have moved away from using weights to a move movement based training system. The idea is to train to improve movements that you use doing baseball.

I'm not so sure that's a good idea. A lot of the weight based work is to strengthen areas made weaker, or underused doing a sport. So, if like say a powerlifter came to me to improve their longevity I've start included movements that stretched the pecs & encouraged the shoulders to be pulled ...

First off I'll say, for the record, I'm an ethical vegan. My arguments are based on whether it is right to kill an animal to eat or not, not an environmental argument, although obviously these play indirect parts as being green helps animals too. In the Netherlands they did a study comparing animal products with their fake meat alternatives. They found that although fake meats were generally better than real meats, due to the fact that a lot of stuff like tofu & non-meat burgers are shipped ...

I thought maybe 3 or 4 KB's going from 11-12Kg (to learn the moves with) then maybe something like a 16, 20 & 25Kg or so? I'm not sure....

Beer bread is simple to make, and very tasty.

Also it is particularly fun to make with children, they are usually thrilled at the idea of being allowed to cook with beer (wait until after they‘ve tasted the bread to explain to the kids that the alcohol evaporates during baking).

So, in effect you're making yourself weaker between sets if you sit slouched.

If you consider the time you're sitting slouched at other times as well, like in front of the TV or computer...how much is that holding ...
